The tea is worth five dollars a pot. really nice tea. Very authentic flavor. Service is good, the two ladies are doing their jobs fine. Price is very reasonable, quantity and quality are generous.

A vast variety of well prepared vegan friendly dishes are available here. Mapo tofu, string beans, potatoes, eggplants, mountain yam, carrots and black mushrooms.

They have mandatory 2.50 tea charge per person whether or not you drink or ask for any. They charge 3 per white rice bowl. Parking is easy while half the plaza is out of business. The bean curd with leek has a weird spice flavor. The cauliflower is fantastic and highly recommended. It's not spicy at all. The spicy dry chicken has a weird nutty taste I don't like, but others may enjoy it. It's cheap at 10, though. The spicy cumin lamb is fantastic and a bit spicy. ALL the foods are very greasy. Overall, I'd come back for the cauliflower and lamb, but might just get it to go.

The food was.... out of this world amazing. Felt like I was in heaven. Life was so good yesterday.

People usually complained about its service; other than that, its food never disappointed me.

I highly recommend these three dishes -- pork with green pepper, asparagus lettuce, chili chicken. The dishes are cheap but I hope we can have more meat per dish (increasing the price a little would be ok)

Dong Ting Chun is an award winning Hunan restaurant on the second floor of San Gabriel Square. The menu is filled with various dishes incorporating meats like: frog, beef, chicken, pork, lamb and of course fish. Speaking of fish, the spicy fish head with green and red peppers is very popular here and one of their signature dishes. Highly recommend the Cumin Lamb and their Spicy Beef with celery and peppers. They do have vegetables, the Spicy Cauliflower is fantastic...none of the dishes were oily or overly salted. A nice dessert is pumpkin pancakes...five pancakes lightly dusted with powdered sugar. Service is good and the servers are helpful and friendly. Prices are reasonable and moderate. An excellent family style restaurant...casual with a nice unassuming atmosphere.

My new favorite Hunan restaurant! Or maybe just my general favorite spicy food restaurant. Spicy and salty in the best kind of way is the best way to describe this place. All the dishes we got were fantastic, mouthwatering, and exceptionally executed. It's quite spicy (for all you heat lovers) but you can still clearly taste the meat/veggies and seasonings in your burning mouth. The stinky tofu is THE BEST here. Super stink, super delicious broth it's cooked in, lots of spicy, I could eat this every weekend. Sliced Lamb (non spicy version): Just so we would have a palette cleanser, this was loved by all and was very flavorful. Would recommend this if you want something tame to balance out your meal. Spicy Pork Belly: SO GOOD! You must get this. The salty and spicy comes into play here but tastes great and mixing the meat bits with white rice balances all the flavors out. Stinky Tofu: You can do the standard fried, but we requested they give it the same treatment as the stinky tofu meat just without the meat cooked in that little tin foil thing. This was my favorite dish overall! Spicy Green Bean: Great as a veggie dish, perfectly cooked. It also has some garlic bits that was really good. Hot and Sour Pig Blood Soup: Their big blood is super clean tasting, really enjoyed it and the hot/sour broth was very delicate and not as strong as some restaurants which was really pleasant. There's a million restaurants to try in this plaza but be sure to check this one out if you're not sure where to go and love spicy food.
